Hey, River family. I wanted to let you know that we have something really special coming up here at church. As you know, the election is just around the corner, and it feels like almost at times like all hope is lost. But I'm so grateful because our hope is not found in a president or a presidential candidate. Our hope is found in our Lord and savior and in God, who says that if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and they'll seek his face, then he'll hear from heaven. And scripture says he'll heal our land. And we got to believe that and we got to trust in that. So what we want to do over the next 31 days, starting Saturday, October 5th, is we want to have people within the church body sign up for a day to fast and pray for our nation. This is vital. This is such an important thing. Fasting is something that is often overlooked. But Jesus said, When you fast, not if you fast, when you fast, he gives us instructions. So we want to equip you and we want to prepare you, but we want the church body to sign up for one day at least.  You can do multiple if you want to. Some of you might want to do an Esther fast, which is three days of not eating. And that was Esther praying for her nation. But even if you'll just do one day where you'll say, I'm going to not eat, and you can start at 8:00 PM one night and break your fast at 8:00 PM the next, however you see fit. But we're going to have a calendar on the app and on the website that you can just sign up and say, this is the day that I'm going to fast. And we want 31 days that will end the day before the election, where we as a church family have covered every day of the week, fasting and praying for Our Nation. Pastor Seth is also going to do a devotional for the church for every day of those 31 days that will have something to do with praying for our nation. So please participate with us. If you choose to fast one day, then still be in prayer even the other days.  And let's believe that God is going to hear our prayers.
